Be there in a convenient 10-15 minute light rail trip down Alison Road and Anzac Parade.
Cricket
The spectacular heritage venue hosts all the top international and domestic cricket matches, from test matches, ODIs, twenty twenty – including for the thriving Big Bash League as it is home to the Sydney Sixers.
Do not miss:
- The ‘pink ball test’ in early January each year for the annual Test match is one of the events of the year, where fans don the colour pink to raise funds for breast cancer research via the now infamous McGrath Foundation.
- The Twenty20 Big Bash League has also exploded in popularity and is an all round fun family afternoon or evening out – the biggest match of the year is Sydney Sixers against their across town rivals Sydney Thunder.
AFL, Rugby Union and Rugby League
These immensely popular sports are also well worth a trip to the SCG for an afternoon or evening out with the family.
The SCG is home ground to the Sydney Swans, and their games often pack out the entire stadium.
During the redevelopment of the football stadium next door, the SCG is also home to the NSW Waratahs rugby union side.
